John Edward Gabriel
John Edward Gabriel, 59, born November 11, 1947, passed away April 30, 2007 at Rockynol -The Ledges Care Facility after a courageous fight with brain cancer. After receiving a BS degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Akron, John worked as a mechanical engineer at various companies in the United States until his illness. John was preceded in death by his father, Edward Gabriel. He is survived by his mother, Sarah Gabriel, as well as many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. with visitation from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Revs. Christy Ramsey and Pam Flower officiating. Interment at East Akron Cemetery. John's family would like to thank the staff of both Rockynol-The Ledges and Hospice of VNS for their care and support.
