John R. Heater, 88, of Akron, passed away on September 23, 2023. He was born on July 5, 1935 in Petroleum, W.Va. "Johnny" was preceded in death by his parents, John Heater Sr. and Addie (Spears) Heater; and 2 sisters, Ada Miller and Mary Lou Butts.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lillian (Sayre) Heater; he will be greatly missed by his three children, Pam Emerson, Debbie Rinella and Rocky (Chris) Heater; two grandsons, Eric Emerson (Carolyn Ross-Miller) and Dylan Rinella (Kelsey Arnold); also close family friend, Eric Baughman and many other family and friends.
He was, by trade, a machinist and carpenter. He participated in sports, especially baseball (when he was a teenager, he was pleased with his unassisted triple play). Johnny was an avid bowler and loved watching the Guardians.
Per his request, there will be no services.
