John J. Kovach Sr.

John J. Kovach Sr. of Akron, died May 1, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Maple Heights on July 4, 1965 to Michael and Clair Kovach. John was an over the road truck driver, avid hunter, husband, father, papa, uncle and brother. John is survived by his wife and soul mate of 28 years, Angeline Kovach; his children, JoAnne (Chris) Currey, John (Gracie Gillis) Kovach and Jennifer (Dylan Sokol) Kovach; his grandchildren, McKenzie, Kayden, Miranda, Bryson and Adalynn Josephine; brothers and sisters, Michael (Paula) Kovach, Patty (Kurt) Morrow, Bobby Kovach, Susie (Ron) Weglicki, and Mark Kovach; and mother-in-law, JoAnne Ziruolo. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as close friends. John was preceded in death by his wonderful parents, Michael and Clair Kovach and his father-in-law/best friend, Joseph Ziruolo. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 5-7 followed by a 7:00 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John's family.
