John J. Mollica, Jr.
John J. Mollica, Jr., 68, of Green, passed away August 27, 2006, at the Hospice Care Center. He was born December 2, 1937 in Akron to the late John & Marie (Connors) Mollica. John served in the U.S. Marines from 1955 - 1958. He was a former Golden Gloves Boxer and a 40 year member of Painters Local 841. John loved spending time with his family most of all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Michael and John R. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy (nee Shupe) Mollica of Green; daughter, Margaret (Ryan) Neitz of Green; sons, Rob (Mary Jean) of Tennessee and Anthony (Maggie) of Canal Fulton; 7 grandchildren; and brother, Joseph (Sharon) of Akron; he will be sadly missed by all his friends especially his best friend his dog Ralph. Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. Wednesday until the service begins.
