John L. Henthorn
John L. Henthorn, age 83, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2007 after a short illness. He was born in Spencer, West Virginia, son of the late Ovie and Mary Jane Henthorn. He lived most of his life in Akron and was a retired truck driver and member of Teamsters Local 224. John was preceded in death by his brothers, Dorman Henthorn and Crayton Taylor, and sister, Alyce Burdette. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Twila; daughters, Barbara Garbinsky (Bob) of Naples, Florida and Linda Mullen (Jack); grandchildren, Amy Palicka (Matt) of Naples, Florida, Lance Sholes, Tiffany Mullen, and Brittney Mullen, all of Akron; sisters, Jean Lowther of Akron, Garnet Walker of Williamstown, West Virginia, Pearl Miller of Spencer, West Virginia, and Dorothy Robertson of Northport, Alabama; and several nieces and their families. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
