John Lakatos, 80, passed away June 1, 2011 after a long illness. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and also an avid reader. John is survived by his loving companion, Marie Lakatos; children, John (Deborah) Lakatos, Debbie (Rick) Erisman, Michelle (David) Werdung, Paula (Bill) Seed, Sandra Shumacher, and Judy Pace; grandchildren, Lori, Shannon, Ricky, John Charles, Will, Michael, and April; sisters, Marion Radcliffe, Julia Salic, Helen Tisci, and Frances (Don) Havens; brother, Steve (Pam) Lakatos; and many other loving family members and friends. Calling hours will be held Saturday, June 4, from 4 to 6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will follow at 6 pm.
