John Robert Lessig

John Robert Lessig, age 93 of Munroe Falls, Ohio, formerly of Leechburg, Pennsylvania, went home to be with his Lord, on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at his home.
He was born in Leechburg on May 25, 1925, the son of the late John Leon and Margaret L. (nee Cline) Lessig.
John was a graduate of Leechburg High School and went on and attained an Associates Degree from Duff School of Business in Pittsburgh.
He was an honorably discharged US Army veteran of WWII. He retired from Allegheny Ludlum/Allegheny Teladyne after many years of service. He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing bingo, and zip-lining. At 89 years of age he was a passenger in a open cockpit bi-plane. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his two children, Mary Elizabeth Lessig and her companion, Glen Farkas, and Christopher Mark (Kimberly) Lessig; his grandchildren, Matthew (Kayleigh) Cevario, Michael Cevario, Robert Lessig, and Kate Lessig; his great-grandchildren, Robert and Camryn.
Other than his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sue Charlotte Schumaker on January 6, 2013, they were united in marriage on June 11, 1948; and one sister, Marjorie Ebbert.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and all arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
