John C. Lower, 90, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020. He was born on February 14, 1929, the son of Sidney A. and Mildred Lower.
John was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Phyllis, his brother Paul, and his parents.
Left to cherish John's memory are his children John (Patricia) Jr., William, Susan, and James; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister Jeanette; great-niece Debbie; great-great-nephew Larry; sister-in-law Ann Blackie.
John retired from the Akron Police Force after 28 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Greater Akron Motorcycle Club, the Akron Skydivers Club, the Goodyear Hunting & Fishing Club, and the Zepplin Gun Club.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, 44305. A service will follow at noon, and interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
