John Mayer

Our loving husband, father, and grandfather, John A. Mayer, 86, went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2016 surrounded by his family. John was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Garfield High School and retired from Goodyear after 35 years.

Preceded in death by his parents, John and Freda; and grandson Matthew Mayer.

He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 67 years Nancy, brother-in-law Don, daughter and son-in law Sandy and Larry, special daughter-in-law Barbara, and son Gary. He was blessed to have his grandchildren Christy (Chris), Autumn (Brian), Mark (Elizabeth), and Mike. He adored his great-grandchildren Carlee, Mike Jr., Camryn, Connor, Andrew, Carmen and Cecilia.

Private burial has taken place. The family would like to express their gratitude to Summa Hospice, Akron, Ohio and the staff at Green Village.
