John N. Smith
John N. Smith, born June 3, 1932 in Akron, Ohio, passed away on April 1, 2009. He graduated from East High School, served in the US Navy and retired after 43 years of service from The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was a member of and served as an usher at the St. Matthew Parish. John was also a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Eagle's club. He was preceded in death by his parents Marie and Sebastian Smith, sisters Marie, Katherine, and Frances; brothers Frank, Sebastian, and Steve. He is survived by his wife Esther of 54 years; children Valerie, Vanessa, Mark (Carol), Michelle, Paula, and Jennifer (Larry); grandchildren Erin, Noel, Amber, Ryan, Cody, and Taylor; brothers Joe and George. Family and friends will be received on Monday, 10-11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church with a memorial mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthew Catholic Church.
