John M. Park, 85 of Akron went home to the arms of Jesus December 3, 2022. He was reunited with the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Helen, whom he had missed dearly these past 6 years.
John served in the Navy from 1955-1958 as active duty, and was in the reserves until 1963, when he was honorably discharged. He soon married our mother on April the 11th, 1959.
Soon after came their first child, Debbie, followed by Patti, Edna and John II.
Our dad was the most generous, kind man who always would lend a hand to anyone in need, never thinking of himself.
Dad was a hardworking, faithful employee for House of LaRose for 37 years, from 1959-1996. Our dad taught us kids to also be hard workers, and give your all in everything you do. Dad never missed a day of work when we were young, and would work even though he was sick. If he got hurt at work, like when the truck door slammed down on his hand, smashing his thumb, he would just bandage and tape it up and go back to work, never going to the ER.
Our dad was a good husband and father, who always provided for his family. All 8 of his grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and his first great-great-grandchild whom he was waiting for, all held a special place in his heart.
Dad enjoyed the horse races throughout his life, especially when he was younger, going with his parents and all his uncles. He later owned horses at Northfield that he would race, with some taking 1st place.
John was preceded in death by his wife Helen, his parents James and Marie Park, brother Jim Park, and infant daughter Edna.
He is survived by daughters Debbie (Kevin) Baker, Patti (Paul) Askey, son John II (Shannon) Park; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Rest in Jesus' arms, what a family reunion you are having! We love you and will some day see you again.
