John Paul McDowell III
A loving husband and father passed peacefully on September 4, 2013 surrounded by family into the arms of the Lord. He was born November 10, 1952 in Akron, Ohio to the late John Paul McDowell Jr. and Edna Mariom Buss. John graduated from Coventry High School and attended the University of Akron. He was employed at Fomo Products for 16 years.
He was a wonderful singer and lead guitar player with the band "Greased Lightning" and also had his own band called "Uncle John and the Tone Hogs" loved by many! John was a very talented instrument pilot and his passion was flying Cessna planes.
John dearly loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 8 years, Dianna McDowell. He also leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Brenda Coblentz; sons, Dwain Hull, Richard Hunt, and Miguel Hunt; sisters, Susan (Patrick) McIntyre and Judy (Jeff deceased) Lipscomb; 4 nieces; 1 nephew; 1 great-niece; 1 great-nephew; and 9 grandchildren.
A dinner in honor of John will be held on Sunday September 8 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mogadore Moose Club, 4095 Mogadore Rd., Mogadore, Ohio 44260 (330) 628-2544. A celebration of life service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Mogadore Moose Club.
