John Alfred Roark (51)
Born 5/27/1972 to Paula Ideen and James William Roark, went to his final rest on Jan. 22, 2024, after a 2-year battle against cancer.
John was an avid camper, sportsman and fisherman who truly loved the outdoors, especially the Smoky Mountains.
John was predeceased by his wife, Rae Ann Conti-Roark (the love of his life) and his mother, Paula Ideen (nee Serfass) Roark. He leaves behind his father, James Roark; daughters, Marlena Jane Roark (granddaughter, Evie), Madeline Kay Roark (granddaughter, Amelia), Marissa Lou Roark; and son, Gavin Benjamin Roark; sisters, Robin Ann (Darrin) Roark-Owens and Dawn Ann (Andrew) Carey; nieces, Ashley Marie Owens and Megan Ann Owens (great-niece, Willow Ideen Prater); nephew, Donovan Kyle Carey; brother-in-law and father-in-law, Bill & Ray Conti; best friends, Dave, Marc, Todd and Warren; and his feline, Appa.
John joined his father at the family business Akron Wheel & Frame upon graduation from Cuyahoga Falls High in 1990. He served as C. O. O. and company Treasurer until his health made him retire.
Cremation has taken place, as per his request his cremated remains will be spread in the Smoky Mountains, Nevada, the family campground and interred with his wife, Rae Ann, at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the American Cancer Society in the name of John and Rae Ann Roark.
