John M. Schott

John M. "Marty" Schott, 70, passed away July 6, 2020. Born in Akron, Ohio to John and Harriett (Outland) Schott, he was a lifelong Akron area resident. John was a graduate of Buchtel High School and the University of Akron. He worked as an Insurance Adjuster with Grange Insurance for many years before starting his own company, Schott Associates. John enjoyed writing poetry, playing pool, photography, reading, baseball and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Paul; daughter, Laura; brother, David; his favorite dog, Louie. He will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 50 years, Diana; children, Elizabeth Sherman, Katie (Brandon) Blomquist; Joe (Satomi); grandchildren, Julia, Andrew, Rachel, Ethan, Evelyn, Lilli, Lucas, Maya, Sophia; brother, Kevin (Suzanne); sisters in-law, Janet (Tom) Eidmann, Linda Strebler; nieces, nephews and friends.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment with military honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations in John's name to the Humane Society of Summit County.
