John P. Steiner, Sr.
John P. Steiner, Sr., 62, a life resident of Akron, passed away on Feb. 24, 2005. He was born on Oct. 30, 1942, in Akron, OH to the late John and Bobbie Steiner. John graduated from South High School in 1969. He served in the Army during the time of the Vietnam War. John retired from Goodyear with 37 years of service. A former Eagle Scout, he enjoyed camping, traveling, NASCAR, and classic cars. He also had a great love for his grandchildren, family and dogs. John is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Phyllis (Eddleman) Steiner. Along with his wife, John leaves behind sons, John P. (Carol) Steiner, Jr. of Akron, and Eugene P. (Darlene) Steiner of Brimfield Twp., and 7 grandchildren; Ashley, John III, Joshua, Alex, Bradley, Nicholas, and Amanda. Calling hours will be on Monday, Feb. 28, 2005 from 4 - 8 PM at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 12:00 PM with Al Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park with Mogadore VFW 8487 providing military honors.
