John D. Stock Sr.

John D. Stock Sr., born December 17, 1939, passed away at home on September 6, 2017. He retired from the Post Office in 2000 due to his health. John was a very modest, unpretentious, and complex man. He worked hard his entire life, always concerned about helping others. He loved life and could often be found going out to eat with family and friends, camping at his son's cabin, playing Euchre, cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events, and enjoying family get togethers. He put everyone else first and never complained, even when he was sick. His beloved dog Lily was his saving grace during his illness. He is finally home in the loving arms of our Lord.
John will be deeply missed by the love of his life, Charlotte, his wife for 58 years; children, Denise (Vinnie) Pesko, John (Rebecca) Stock Jr., and Terri (Joe) Battle; grandchildren, Danielle, Dominique, Autumn, Jessica, Ryann, Alex, Sammi, Jordin, Darien, Devin, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Gavin, Kaylee, Rylee, Dylan, and Gianna. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Florence Stock; and daughter, Michele Kyle. The family wishes to give a big thank you to Summa Hospice - they were a big help and so supportive!
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior. Pastor Craig Peters officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph.
