John Stratos (Banjo, Santa Claus)
John Stratos, born April 24, 1926, age 80, a wonderful provider and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who came to know his Lord and Savior on July 15, 2001, passed away Monday, November 27, 2006 in the loving care of his devoted and loving wife of 56 years, Theresa. He belonged to Eagles 555 for 55 years. He was the owner and operator of Johnny's Rubbish Service and worked for Mohawk Rubber Co. for 27 years. John was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Stratos; grandson, Raymond Haynes III; and granddaughters, Becky Haynes and Bobbi Jo Wilfred. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife and caretaker, Theresa; his seven daughters, Tredel (Rod) Lanham, Maria (Dave) Hilliard, Rebecca Haynes, Merle Wilfred, Rochelle (Tim) Reynolds, Angela (Fred) Hymes, and Paula Stratos, as well as his special granddaughter and twelfth child, Celeste, whom he raised and cherished; his four sons, John Jr., James (Shannon), Gerald (Kathy), and Joseph (Rebecca) Stratos; brother, George (Irene) of Arizona and sister, Artemis (Nick) Topougis; 42 grandchildren; 38+ great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and special friends, Ray Adorni and Ron (Marie) Hotchkiss. He will now be riding his tractor with the angels in Heaven. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dwight Strickland officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
