John M. Syroid, "Papa/Papi", age 59 of New Franklin, Ohio, died on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his home.
He was born on November 15, 1958 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Frances (nee Hunt) DeMali of Daytona Beach, FL and the late John Syroid.
John was a tool and die supervisor at Rotocast in Akron for many years. He enjoyed boating and traveling to Florida; but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his children, John A. Syroid, Ryan M. (Julia) Syroid, and Jenna M. (Matthew) Lysiak; his grandchildren, John Mason, Austin Lee, and Lacy Renee Syroid, Charlotte Marie, Gavin John, and Dexter James Lysiak, and Connor Lane Syroid. His siblings also survive, Theresa (Brian) Dark and Michael (Michelle) Syroid; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Other than his father, John was preceded in death by his wife, the former Donna M. Robinson, whom he married on February 14, 1980, she preceded him on September 12, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
