John T. Bayer
A gentle, loving, compassionate soul has entered the kindgom of heaven on Sunday, March 12, 2006.
John T. Bayer, 85, was born in Akron, Ohio, attended St. Bernard School, South High School, and the McKim Technical Institute. John is a veteran of World War II, having served in the Philippines for over three years as a radio operator in the Army Air Corp. He was very active in the German American Club and was an officer many times. He so enjoyed the many customers who came to Andy's Reliable Radio & T.V. Services over his forty years in the business. His family, friends, gardening, golfing and traveling were a great source of joy to him. John was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Catherine (Chieda) Bayer, his son Gregory Michael, and stepmother Gertrude (Eichorn) Bayer. He is survived by his wife Katherine (Kiltau) of soon to be 63 years of marriage, daughter Karen Gingras, grandchildren Michelle (Steve) Carey and Jason (Dana) Maidenberg and great-grandson Ryan, brother Frank (Peg), sister Catherine Kammerdeiner, sister-in-law Louise Kiltau and aunt Betty Merda, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was fortunate to have shared his life with loving neighbors and friends including: Alexis, Bock, Botz, Copen, Costanzo, Dagilis, Elmer, Fogler, Gauder, Gross, Hershberger, Huryn, Kaiser, Kuhlawick, Labbe, Martucci, Muschkat, Nelson, Ruhman, Schreckengost, Schveibinz, Seiler, Stimler, Wetshtein, and fellow Hospice volunteers. There will be a private military service and at a later date a celebration of John's life will be held. Auf Wiedersehen! Donations may be made to the Rescue Squad of Copley and Hospice of Summa.
