John E. Tingler
John E. Tingler, 91, died December 9, 2004 following an extended illness. A native of Sutton, Braxton County, W. VA., he resided the greater portion of his life in the Akron area. He was retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 34 years of service and was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple. John is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie & Myrtle (Kitts) Tingler and several family members. He is survived by his wife, Lavinna; son, Robert (Opal) of Stow; two step-daughters; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Ivan Tingler of Hubbard, Ohio, Homer Tingler of Yuma, Arizona; sister, Beatrice Barr of Akron; half-sisters, Betty Harris of Concord, Ohio and Ann Gum of Sutton, West Virginia. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday at Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. with Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. Monday until the service begins. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
