John Warner Heflin
John Warner Heflin, 80, passed away June 24, 2010. John was born April 21, 1930, in Roanoke, WV to the late John C. Heflin and Doris F. Heflin. He resided in the Akron area most of his life, working and retiring from Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton. During the 1980s and early 90s, John also ran a small repair business he called Heflin Welding. He also worked for the Ford Motor Co. John served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Marine Corps. He was very proud to have served and he was proud of the fact that he is a Marine. He was an avid fisherman and an avid Indians fan. John really loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, passing this love to his children and grandchildren. Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy (Overt) Cole, Marie (Bob) Hull; brothers, Edward Heflin and Robert Heflin. John leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carol J. Heflin; son, John C. (Bree) Heflin; daughter, Terri L. (David) Mosley; sister, Janis Heflin; grandchildren, Christina Mosley, Caroline Mosley, David Mosley, Ronald Moore, Rhiannon Heflin, Deanna Heflin, and John C. Heflin, Jr. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews for whom he loved with all his heart. The family would like to thank the Copley Health Center for their care. A memorial service will be Friday at 6:oo p.m. with visitation from 5-6 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd.
