John Walter Ayers, Jr.
John W. Ayers, Jr., 58, of Akron passed away after a lengthy illness, on August 2, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cuyahoga Falls and lived most of his life in Akron. John was the best father in the world to his daughter, Sarah, and son, Neil. His grandson, Cameron, was the light of John's life and being a grandfather gave him immeasurable joy. A kind and unselfish man, John always put his family and friends first. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved being in the outdoors. He retired from MacTac after over 30 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Jacqueline Ayers, John is survived by his wife of 32 years, Denise; daughter, Sarah (Kevin Sziva); son, Neil; grandson, Cameron; sisters, Nancy (Richard) Lampasone of Akron; Susan Ayers (Daron) of Stow; Margaret (James) Yost of Cuyahoga Falls; Amy Calderwood (David) of Cuyahoga Falls; brother Michael Ayers of Cuyahoga Falls and many other family members.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday August 6 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:00 followed by a 10:00 a.m. funeral mass at St. Joseph Church, 1761 Second St., Cuyahoga Falls. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
