John Jeffrey Williams

John was born on August 22nd, 1941, in Akron Ohio and passed away on November 8th, 2022. Preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Rita J Williams (12-15-17), by his father Charles C. Williams and his mother Jane G. Williams, brothers Charles F. Williams (10-30-2002), Robert J Williams (11-7-2002) and his sister Diann M. Williams (Staten) (9-5-2012).

Surviving are his brothers George T. Williams (Mary) of Akron Ohio and Gregory A. Williams (Mary) of Cuyahoga Falls Ohio. Sons Michael J. Williams (Deborah) of Orlando Florida, Scotty A. Williams (Kelly) of Davenport Florida and Daniel T. Williams (Candace) of Akron Ohio. Grandchildren Jessica D. Laird (Jeremy) of Canton Ohio, Matthew S. Williams (Danielle) of Orlando Florida, Kasey M. Williams of Davenport Florida and Daniel T. Williams Jr. of Akron Ohio. Great-Grandchildren Nicholas, Jordan, Benson and Emma Laird.

John served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966 at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland. After leaving the service he returned to his job at General Tire until he joined the Akron Police Department on June 6, 1968, retiring on May 3, 1996. John was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police for over 50 years till his passing.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
