John A. Yanchek, age 78, of Akron passed away on December 22, 2024, He was born in Cleveland Heights on December 10, 1946. He went on to achieve an associate’s degree. In 1969, he married Linda (Kopp) who passed in 2010. John was a kitchen designer for Home Depot for many years and enjoys wrestling, NASCAR, and puppetry. John was very kind, loving and helpful to those in need. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and loved to get them to smile and laugh. In 2011, he married Nancy who survives him. John is also survived by his children John (Lisa) Yanchek, Paul (Julie) Yanchek, Jo (Ronnie) Cole, and Heather (Edward) Alcorn; grandchildren Aaron, Kaylee, Emmalynn Yanchek; Tiffany Wierzbicki, Brian Elizondo, Kelli Wierzbicki, Morgan Bollard; Anna, Katie, Abby, Megan Alcorn; brother Jerry (Margreet) Yanchek; and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frances and Andrew Yanchek, his first wife Linda Yanchek, and beloved dog Ginger.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service.
