Johnnie Lynn Warner, age 69 of Akron passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at his home. He was born on January 17, 1950, the son of Frankie and Betty {Taylor} Warner, who preceded him in death. Also preceding Johnnie was his wife, Ruby and his brother Lonnie.
Left to cherish Johnnie's memory are his girlfriend Debbie; children Julie (Tim) Delaney and Jeff (Kelly) Warner; grandchildren Christin (Michael), Daniel (Kara), Tyler, Steven, Ryan (Brooke), Brooke; great-grandchildren Lukus, Ireland, and Reese; siblings Frankie (Rhonda), Keith (Stacia), and Brian (Dawn); cat Abby; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Johnnie was a proud and decorated Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. His service earned him a Bronze Star, and the Army Commendation Medals with Valor for Heroism. Johnnie was an avid gun collector, and loved a good country western. He was very proud of his children, whom he loved dearly. Johnnie loved to grill, garden, and anything else that kept him outside.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
