Jon Michael Middleton, Sr., of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2014.
A lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls, he was employed by Stutzman's Sparkle Market as a meat cutter for 25 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, a member of the O.G. F. Ohio Game and Fishing Club, and a former outdoors writer for the Falls News Press.
Preceded in death by parents, Leland and Margaret "Peg" Middleton; and brother, Billy. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda L. (Klein) Middleton, of the home; daughter, Shawnee (Blake); son, Jon, Jr. (Melissa); and daughter, Lynnie (Bruce); sister, Sue (Phil); grandchildren, Jessica (Craig), Parker, Jonathan, Nicholas, Madison, Andrew (Jenna), Peanut, Austin, Jocelyn, and Cheyenne; nephew, Jordan (Laura); niece, Holly; step-grandchildren, Lauren, Kristin, Allison, Rob, Jamie, Kayla, and Bubba; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 130 Broad Blvd., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Portage County APL, 8122 Infirmary Rd., Ravenna, OH 44226 or to Pilgrim United Church of Christ.
