Joseph Franklin Boling "Frank," 84, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Akron City Hospital following a heart procedure. Frank was born on December 26, 1932 in Owensboro, KY to the late Rose and William Boling.
He will be missed tremendously by his family and friends. He was a great man who could always tell a joke on a moments notice about any topic being discussed. His favorite hobby was the horse races. He faced a variety of health issues in his life but always came through them with flying colors. Who will start the singing of "Happy Birthday" in the family without his deep voice? He was a very wise man who all his children went to at one time or another for advice on every situation. He was always there to help out in any way he could.
Frank was retired from the Ironworkers Local 17 and was in the U.S. Marines.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Beverly Boling, granddaughter Kristin Nist and brother Darryl Boling.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Alice Boling, children Linda (Paul) Schrock, Daniel (Patti) Boling, Sandy (Rick) Nees, Brett (Heidi) Boling, stepchildren Diana (Charles) Bramlette and Linda Williams, sister Peggy Laidig, grandchildren Heather (Jeremy) Fisher, Brad (Jessica) Boling, Aimee (Matt) Bartholet, Toni Boling, step-grandchildren Lauren and Tyler Gallo, great-grandchildren Taylor, Nathan, Aric, Camden and Kristi-Jo.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 11 am until time of memorial service at 12 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Pastor Gary Friend will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suffield United Church of Christ or Suffield Fire Dept.
