Joseph O. Claytor
Joseph O. Claytor, 85, of Akron, passed away February 25, 2008. Joseph proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later retired from Goodyear. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and particularly loved spending time with his three great-grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling and took his great-grandchildren to Disney World several times. He also had a love for animals and golf. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Rae; parents, Joseph and Katie; and sister, Evelyn. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Caroll Miklos and Niki (Ed) Scrivens; brother, Calvin (Louise) Claytor; grandchildren, Laura (Doug) Richardson, Michelle (Mike) Mackey, and Eric Jackson; and great-grandchildren, Christian Richardson, Paige Mackey, and Alexis Mackey. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron with Pastor Dane Allphin officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
