Joseph Patrick Corradi, "Joe", age 73 of Jefferson, Georgia, formerly of Vienna, Ohio, died on March 3, 2017 in Athens, Georgia of Cancer.
He was born on March 17, 1943 in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of the late Giuseppe and Colomba Pisegna Corradi.
Joe was raised in Warren, where he was a 1960 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He worked for the Trumbull County Road Department, before landing a job with Packard Electric, a division of GM, where he worked for 33 years, retiring in 1997, most of that time he was a foreman in Plant 14.
He had many hobbies including, but not limited to, hunting, cooking, wine making, and bee keeping. Joe enjoyed many arts and crafts, he weaved baskets and also made stained glass. For a while in Vienna, he had his own business, Corradi Stained Glass, where he taught the art of making stained glass, crafted several lamps, windows, clocks, sun catchers, and did repairs.
Joe was a past member of the Jefferson Lions Club, the Old Timers Hunting Club and also was a member of the Collelonghesi Society in Warren.
Mr. Corradi was a faithful and founding member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Jefferson.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, the former, Isabelle Russo, whom he married on December 28, 1963; three sons, Joseph T. of Austintown, Steven A. (Melisa "Lisa") of Elberton, GA, and Lauro (Darla) of Jefferson, GA; five grandchildren, Joseph C. of Brooklyn, NY, Cameron J. (fiance Rebecca Foley) of Jefferson, GA, Alessandra J. of Austintown, Megan M. of Jefferson, GA, and Courtney R. of Dacula, GA. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that mourn his loss.
Other than his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by two sisters, Maddalena P. Marino and Ginevra G. Capito.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Evans Funeral Home in Jefferson, Georgia, and a funeral Mass was held at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 12:10 PM. Following Mass his body was cremated, per his request, and his cremated remains will be placed in the St. Catherine Laboure's Columbarium in the future.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, where Rev. Monsignor Michael J. Cariglio will celebrate Joe's life. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the Mass.
