Joseph M. Gurnish I

Joseph M. Gurnish I, 60, went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2005. Joseph served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a machinist at Vance Precision Industries for many years and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, fourwheeling, traveling to West Virginia, and spending time with his grandchildren. His family would like to tell him one last time, "You're da man!" Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Vickie; daughter, Jo-Dee Blakney; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph M. and Kimberly Gurnish II; mother, June; brothers, Jim and Jay (Carol); grandchildren, Karrissa, Lynsi, Catherine, Michael, Amanda, Miranda, and Ashlee. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bob Fleming and Pastor Dennis Massie officiating. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
