I never imagined having to write my husband's obituary. Summarizing the life of such an incredible man that meant so much to all of us seems impossible. "BIG SHOW JOE" was one in a million. His cute, crooked smile touched countless hearts. I can use all the words… generous, giving, kind, compassionate, loving, dependable: while all true, they do not do justice to his huge heart. Nothing does him justice. He gave more of himself to anyone in need than he would ever consider giving to himself. Joe was the most selfless, likeable guy that I have ever known. He always wanted to give me the best... and he did: he gave me his heart. His heart was the best. It was hard to carry some days because it was so ginormous. The day we met he pointed out that my smile matched his: crooked. He was made for me, and I was made for him. Our hearts were, and still are, one: Pinky Swear.
Joe loved many things, his family most of all. He cherished many things including his friends, his country, and his neighborhood friends, including the Mayor of Redwood, Harrell B. Joe was an excellent cook and won awards for his ribs and barbeque. He was always talking to someone, be it one of his siblings, his father, friends from all over the country. Joe always wanted to check in and keep in touch with people. Joe was loved by so many people. He made my heart feel small in the shadow of the size of his… and that made him loved even more, by not only me, but everyone else as well. If you were lucky enough to know him, know you were loved and please cherish those memories.
Joe was the joy of my world.
I don't have words; my heart is weak without his.
Per Joseph's wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be a Celebration of Joseph's Life on Saturday, September 10th from 12pm-4pm at the Irish American Club, located at 8559 Jennings Road, Olmsted Township, OH 44138. To leave a message for Joe's family, please scroll below.
