Joseph F. Latona, 90, of Akron, passed away on June 24, 2023. He was born in Akron on June 11, 1933 to the late Peter and Anna {LaRocca} Latona.
Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Army, and served during The Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, on January 21, 1956, he married Donna {Marrese} Latona, and they celebrated 67 wonderful years together. They were longtime members of St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Donna; daughters Deanna (Mike) Shape and Jennifer (Denny) Bender; grandchildren Lauren (Mark) Cook, Thomas Bender, Vince (Katie) Shape, Joe Shape and Jenna (Aaron Nelson) Shape; 7 great-grandchildren.
Private services and well-deserved military honors will be held for his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joe's memory are suggested to the New Franklin Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #202, via the New Franklin Police Department, 5611 Manchester Rd., New Franklin, OH 44319.
