Joseph Edward Lutz, 89, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2018. He was born in New York City on February 25, 1928. He served in the Merchant Marines in WW II and served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Joseph was self employed with Lutz Television/radio repair for 25 years. He was also employed with the City of Akron in Communication division as a radio technician with #5 radio for 20 years. He was a member of Mogadore VFW 8487, American Legion and Mogadore Moose Club. His interests and hobbies were hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.
Joseph was a devoted husband and loving father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. A true gentleman and patriot. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eudora; children, Mark, Stephen and Michael. He is survived by daughter, Deborah (Rick) Grunder; son, James; granddaughters, Theresa (Alan) Garner, Nicole Lutz, and Stephanie (Stephen) Hibbs; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Olivia Garner, and Levi and Caleb Hibbs; sisters, Margaret, Marion and Agnes. Family will receive friends on January 26, 2018 from 2-4pm with the memorial service immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305.
