Joseph W. McIntyre "Cocomo", 64, of Akron, passed away on May 22, 2023. He was born in Akron on July 28, 1958. Joe's passions in life were spending time with his family and hitting the road on his Harley. He was a longtime member of the motorcycle club Free Brothers of America.
Joe had a larger than life personality. He could talk to anyone and made an impression on everyone he met. Joe had a gift for mentoring younger men and kids. His sound advice and words of wisdom will be carried on by many.
Joe is now reunited with his mother, Glenna "Tudie" McIntyre and uncle, Ronnie Harrison.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Terry McIntyre; father, Lester; brothers, Butch and Ed; sisters, Becky and Sandy; children, Antoinette (Roger) Hale, Sonny (Tammy) Beck, Jerry Beck, Tana (James) Franco; fourteen grandchildren and their spouses, sixteen great-grandchildren; and many, many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nelson Carter officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
