Finally free to fly ...
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph James Moirano, 72, of Akron, Ohio. Joe passed away peacefully in his home on August 13, 2023.
Joe was born on January 10, 1951, in Akron, Ohio. He was a retired nurse, who worked in the ER for most of his career, where he spent his days helping and comforting others. Joe was always ready with a laugh, and making others smile was one of his greatest joys. His sense of humor was one of a kind and the laughter he brought will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Joe loved spending time with his husband, family, and friends. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors, and he was always mindful and appreciative of nature's life and beauty. Joe had a great love for the beach, which was one of his favorite places to be. He was also an amazing artist, creating and crafting unique treasures that he happily shared with others.
To know Joe was to love Joe, and he touched so many lives with his kind heart and beautiful spirit. Joe was a cherished husband and a wonderful son, brother, and uncle. He will be deeply missed.
Joe is survived by his beloved husband, Duane-Sarac Moirano, whom he shared his last ten blissful years with. They would have celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary on August 20 of this year. Duane was devoted to Joe and provided him with the most compassionate care as Joe began his journey to Heaven. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Moirano; his sister Peggy Moirano (Dan Hawke); his brother Mike Moirano; his nieces; his great nephews; and his great nieces. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph (Babe) Moirano Jr., as well as his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Val Moirano.
The family will hold a private memorial at a later time. We ask that you pray for peace in this time of grief and hold close all the memories if you were blessed enough to share some with Joe.
Fly high, Joe, and thank you for watching over us as you have earned your wings.
You are forever loved.
