Joseph John Rinella, Jr., age 77, of Tallmadge, passed away on Tuesday March 26, 2024. He was born on September 6, 1946 in Akron, OH to the late Joseph J. and Carmel Mary (Sylvestri) Rinella. A graduate of St. Vincent High School class of 1964, he served in the Army stationed in Germany, and retired from Summa Health System Finance Department. His love of sports provided many years of playing softball, officiating basketball, and playing golf. He was a tried-and-true Cleveland Browns Fan. He was a member of Sons of Italy, Lodge #685.
Joe is survived by his wife Nancy; sisters Sandra (James) Symons, Frances (Nick) Panagopoulos, Carol Rinella; brother Richard "Rick" (Mary) Rinella; children Jill (Christopher) Ulrich, Joseph John (Lenora) Rinella III, Michael (Deanna) Jacobs; grandchildren Scott Joseph McEvoy, Michael Ulrich, J'Net (Ryan) Weber, Joseph John Rinella IV, Michael "Taylor" Rinella, Katelyn (James) Gress; 2 great-grandchildren Tristan and Lucas Weber; siblings-in-law Roseanne Moyer, Frank Elia, Jeff (Tina) Elia, Christina Miller; and many other special relatives and friends.
Calling hours are Monday April 1st from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home. Services begin promptly at 11:00 AM. Final resting place Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery and will be scheduled at a later date.
