Joseph Salmons, Sr.

Joseph C. Salmons died on February 24, 2016 at home in the loving arms of his family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Clara Vivian Salmons, whom he married on February 6, 1943. He will be greeted at the gates of Heaven by his dearest daughter Connie Jones.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherrie Read and sons, Robert (Joann) Salmons, David (Debra) Salmons, and Joseph Salmons, Jr. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his care giver for 3 years, his loving granddaughter Jennifer Ramsey.

Joseph served in WWII in Germany at the Rhine River. He retired from Goodyear with 35 years of service. He was a hero and father who was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 5-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 2 at 11am. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
