Joseph L. Sitosky
Joseph L. Sitosky, 82, passed away on September 22, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Born February 15, 1925 to the late Cedric and Adele Sitosky. Joseph and his wife Barbara began their life together in Punxsutawney, PA when he worked at the Quicklunch. They later moved to Akron in 1953 where Joseph worked for Goodyear Aerospace and later retired from the City of Akron after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, bowling, winemaking, and sharing his famous cooking skills. Joseph cherished his time with his beloved wife and grandchildren who lovingly helped with his care in his time of need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Stanley, Cedric, Jack, Matthew, Edward, Sue, Dell, Joan, and Jean; and granddaughters Jessica and Lindsay. Survivors include his wife Barbara, of 59 years; daughters Jolene (Ron) Dannemiller and Loree (Gary) Stubblefield; sons Joseph (Shauna), Gary (Denise), and Dennis (Debbi); sisters Emily Serian, Irene LaZar, and Natalie Mizerock; brother Walter (Emma); 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral Mass Wednesday, 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church with prayers at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
