Joseph L. "Joe" Zamiska, age 65 of Bath, Ohio, died on May 30, 2023.
He was born in Barberton on March 6, 1958, the son of the late Charles and Doris (nee Coyle) Zamiska.
Joe was a manager for several of the Walmart stores in the area. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, bowling (he had bowled six 300 games and was inducted into the Bowlers Hall of Fame). Joe also liked to play softball, playing on several leagues throughout the years. He was a huge Cleveland Browns fan.
A very special place that Joe and Laura often visited and enjoyed was Mohican State Park, where Joe proposed to Laura and they eventually married.
Joe had a vivacious personality and a heart of gold. He enjoyed his family and friends. He never knew a stranger. Joe always was a bright spot in the room and would do anything to make people laugh with a joke.
Survivors include his loving wife and best friend, the former Laura Wheeler, who he married on October 1, 2003; and his siblings, Patricia Weigand and Chuck (Emily) Zamiska; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors that deeply mourn Joe's loss.
Other than Joe's parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Paula Zamiska and David Zamiska; and his wife's parents, Henry and Evelyn (nee Bryner) Wheeler.
Laura would like to thank everyone at the Hospice Care Center and the following Cleveland Clinic Home Care caregivers, Mary, Janice, MacKenzie and Renee, for their care and love they showed to Joe and his family.
Per Joe's wishes, there will not be any calling hours or services at this time. In the near future, there will be a celebration of life with plenty of toasting and celebrating with Joe's favorite drink, Maker's Mark.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to One Of A Kind Pet Animal Rescue in Joe's memory.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio.
