Josephine Dapice, 99, went home to be with the Lord on December 1, 2023.
Born March 19, 1924, the daughter of Guido and Agatha Tambini, Josephine was a long-time resident of Akron's North Hill neighborhood. She was a woman of great faith and a devoted catholic, actively attending service and providing home-cooked meals to the congregation of St. Martha's (Blessed Trinity) Catholic Church. Josephine loved nature, especially flowers, and could often be found tending to the beautiful garden in her back yard. She was a creative soul who enjoyed sewing, drawing, and coloring…no note or card from Josephine was ever complete without a hand-drawn smiling sunshine! Most of all, she made her house a home for family and friends through her cooking. Josephine will always be remembered for the love she showed through her food…whether it was stuffed shells accompanying a full Thanksgiving dinner or the family gathering for homemade pizza day, it was impossible to go hungry in her presence.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 54 years, Joseph Dapice Jr.; beloved son, Joseph Dapice; and cherished siblings Lillian Davis, and Dino Tambini.
Josephine is survived by her loving daughter Deborah (Gerald Harris) Inks; grandchildren Angela Keblesh, Allison Keblesh, Virginia (Michael) Pantalone, Christopher (Angela) Inks, Jennifer (Craig) Wolf; great-grandchildren L.J. Riase, Angelina Pantalone, Mya Inks, Andrew Inks, Gabriella Dovala, and Gianna Dovala; many other loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A small service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, 11 am.
