Josephine Harris

Josephine Harris, 75, of Akron, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on November 17, 2017. Josephine was born on April 14, 1942 Newport, Arkansas to the late Edward and King Person. She was very active in the church and served as an usher for many years. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, bingo, and family gatherings.

Josephine was preceded in death by her siblings, Emma Lucy Person, Minnie Francis Person, Donald G. Person, Robert Person and Edward Person.

Josephine will be deeply missed by her children, Tammy Sherrod, Bryant (Kim) Dickerson, Paulette (Ron) Spivey, and Aletha Harris-Beasley; sisters, Betty (Walter) Randell, Mary Ward, Doris Person, and Virginia (Clarence) Gillespie; grandchildren, Dion Sherrod, Donita Hawthorne, Lemellia Barclay, Leaisha Harris, Rahsheed Moore, Krystal Hitt-Stenson, Mahkeeda Moore, Shaquella Moore, Tameez Moore, Bryant Dickerson, and Dalvin Dickerson; and 18 great-grandchildren; special friends, Linda Jackson and sister Beulah Bennett and a host of many others.

Friends and family are welcome to Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305 330-784-3334 on November 30, 2017 from 11am-1pm, with a funeral service to immediately follow.
