Josephine Rich, "Jo", age 78, of Akron, Ohio, died on December 20, 2019 at Akron City Hospital.
She was born on February 11, 1941 in Free State, TN, the daughter of the late Walter Payton and Ellie Agnes (nee Smith) Stafford.
Jo was a home health aid and cared for several patients in the area. Some of her hobbies were gardening, working in her yard, collecting salt and pepper shakers and frequenting yard sales. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Clint (Angela) Stubblefield, Gary (Lori) Stubblefield, Dean Butler, Sonya Muzzy, Penny (John) Cundiff and April (Brian) Kern; her 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. One sister also survives, Glenda Carver.
Other than her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Cundiff; two grandchildren, Shawn Muzzy and Nicki Howe; and her siblings, Harvey Stafford and Mable Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday, December 30, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron, where family and friends may visit from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. Interment to take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Uniontown, Tuesday, December 31 at 10:00 a.m.
