Joshua Roy Legg
Joshua Roy Legg, 24, of Akron, went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2006. He attended Garfield High School, and played quarterback. He had lettered in his freshman year on varsity while still also playing on junior varsity. He also played for the Firestone Park Indians baseball team and basketball for Garfield and Firestone Park and Recreation. Joshua was deeply involved with his family, which he dearly loved. He loved and had a great passion for cars (as he had many). He was a great dad, husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson and a great friend to many. He will be greatly missed and was very loved by all. Josh was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Merle Bollinger; grandfather-in-law, Thomas Cochran. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of three years, Nicole Eckenrode-Legg; his beloved son, Jordan; his adoring infant daughter, Makayla; his dearest mom, Kathryn (Ray) Mull; father, Don (Cindee) Legg; parents-in-law, James & Anne Eckenrode; his infamous grandma, Betty LaMont, known to the community as "Grandma the Crossing Guard"; grandparents Gerry (Boyd) Thomas; step-grandmother, Fran Mull; grandparents-in-law, Joyce & James Eckenrode; step-grandmother-in-law, Mary Cochran; sisters, Kathleen Cole, Deon (Vince) Bishop,and Deserae Legg; brothers, Shane (Amanda) Legg, Donnie (Christina) Legg and Deven; nieces, Rachel Cole, Stephanie Eckenrode and Tailor Adorni; nephews, Austin Legg, Michael Eckenrode; many aunts, uncles and cousins; best friends, Paul Quick and Randy Street; many, many, many friends. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
