Joy Sue Rayford

Joy Sue Copeland Rayford, 80, passed away on December 10, 2021. She was born in West Virginia, but her family moved to Akron when she was eleven. She attended Akron Public Schools and retired from Summa Health System after 32 years of service.

Joy was preceded in death by her daughter, Dreama Copeland, and first husband, Robert F. Copeland.

She leaves her daughter, Valerie Copeland and grandsons, D'Antione Copeland and Michael J. Massey Jr. all of Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter, Tanica Copeland (Charles Harmon Jr.) of Houston, Texas; grandson, DeAndre Copeland Sr. of Akron, Ohio; and two great-grandsons, DeAndre Copeland Jr. of Akron, and Michael J. Massey III of Atlanta, Georgia.

Visitation will take place on Monday December 20, 2021 from 5pm until 8pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Guests are encouraged to wear the color red.

She will be cremated as her wish, and will be buried beside her daughter and first husband at Glendale Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at 79 Autumn Branch Drive, Spring, Texas 77382.
