Joyce Ann Cassidy

Joyce A. Cassidy, 81, of Hartville, passed away on May 6, 2024 at her home. She was born on March 12, 1943 to the late Woodrow "Woody" and Geraldine "Gerry" Smith.

Joyce worked as a supervisor in the printing department at Dairy Mart in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

She was a member of the Southeast Church of Christ. She enjoyed watching Cleveland Sports teams, shopping, decorating her home and trips to the beach.

For those who knew Joyce, she was like a second mom to many. Growing up, her house was the house that friends of her children would always gather at, she was always the "cool mom." Her generosity and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she knew. She will be deeply missed by all.

Joyce is survived by her sister, Carol (Jerry) Stayer; loving children, Debra (Dean) Heavner, Michael (Angela) Cassidy and Tamara (Kent Eckman) Cassidy; grandchildren, Josh (Laura), Chad (Mary), Derek (Angela), Caitlyn, Brandon, Shawn (Courtney) and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Casey, Camryn, Shelby, Colson and Camden; nephews, Jerry Jr. (Caren) and Chris (Christina); great-niece, Sophia; great-nephew, Hank; as well as many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service is scheduled for a later date.

"Mom, words aren't easy when feelings run deep, but still, there's one thing you should know: The values you gave me, the lessons you taught, are with me wherever I go, and loving a mom who's as special as you is something I'll never outgrow."
