Joyce Peets

Joyce R. (Pizzoferrato) Peets (nee Shomo), 81, passed away on October 29, 2010. She was born on March 16, 1929 in Junior, WV, to the late Denver and Freda Shomo. Joyce was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and enjoyed crocheting. She was a beautician and managed Davison Beauty Supply in Fairfax, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Julio; brothers, Denver, Richard, and Rudy; and sister, Shirley. Survivors include her sons, Michael (Charlotte) and Joseph; daughter, Cathy (Lyle) Jenkins; grandchildren, Michael (Monica) Peets, Holly (Jeff) Most, Jennifer Lampert, Amy (Todd Gedeon) Peets, Joshua Jenkins, and Jamie (Rob Book) Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Jenkins, Malorie Most, Jason Peets, Erin Lampert, Emerson Lampert, Jocelyn Peets, Stephanie Most, and Landon Book; sisters-in-law, Mary Butch, Elaine Ware, Natalie Shomo, and Kathy Shomo. Calling hours will be Monday, 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
