Jaunita C. Ivey, 83, went home to be with the Lord on May 18, 2011. Born on May 14, 1928 in Verda, KY. She had been an Akron resident since 1944. She was charter member of Calvary Temple. Juanita volunteered at the Haven of Rest Rescue Mission. She retired from M. O'Neil Department Store in 1988. Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles L. Ivey; parents, William and Elsie Creekmore; brothers, Lewis E. and Mark D. Creekmore. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, David A. and Shelly J. Ivey, of Atwater; grandchildren, Robert S. (Amber)Ivey, of Louisville, Autumn J. (Brandon) Vanderhoff, of Akron; great-grandchildren, Shane, Alexandra, Dillon, Emma, and Mason; brother, Larry (Bonnie) Creekmore, of Saipan; much-loved, Danny L., Sheila, and Daneen Edmonds, all of Arizona. Calling hours will be Sunday, 4-6 p.m. and Monday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Calvary Temple, 3045 Albrecht Ave., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries.
