Juanita "Mickie" Ward
Juanita "Mickie" Ward, 65, of Akron, passed away February 26, 2010 at her residence. She was born December 15, 1944 in Tioga, West Virginia to the late Parker & Sarah (Culver) Dempsey. Mickie was a devoted mother, grandmother and wonderful person to everyone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Dempsey. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia VanCamp, Beth (Paul) Bradley and Sara (Brent) Williams; son, Brian Newsome; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Ward, Wilma Dempsey and Vicki Dempsey; brother, Abe Dempsey. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 - 5 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Mystic officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery. The family would like to extend their thanks for the care given to Juanita by her granddaughter, Justina and Vitas Hospice of Cleveland. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with costs.
