Judith Ann Higgins
Judith Ann Higgins, 62, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Akron City Hospital, following a brain aneurysm. She went to be with her beloved husband of 43 years who passed away also earlier this year in January. Born in Jeanette, Pennsylvania to John E. and Eleanor Holderbaum on June 3, 1946. The family moved to Ohio in 1954 where she remained a lifelong resident of Akron. She was a graduate of East High School and devoted her life to taking care of her husband and children. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, dedicated Cleveland Browns fan, supporter of Home Shopping channels, and a lover of all animals. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, John and April Higgins; her daughter, Cynthia Higgins; her three sisters, Nancy (Bill) Emore, JoAnn Calgos, and Beverly (Charles) Whitcraft; her three brothers, Mark Holderbaum, James (Vicki) Holderbaum, and John (Suzanne) Holderbaum; many nieces and nephews; kind friends, Diane and Dale Perry; many neighbors; and all her beloved pets, especially her cat "Mr. Whiskers". A special thank you to the intensive care unit nursing staff at Akron City Hospital for all their help to our family at such a difficult time. Family and friends may call Monday from 12-1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
