Judith L. Liggett

Judith L. Liggett, 78, passed away on August 13, 2018. Judith was born July 26, 1940 in Akron to the late Donald and Doris Thursby. She graduated from Ellet High School in 1958 and was a longtime manager at Ohio Bell, retiring after over 30 years of service. She was an active member of the Tallmadge Jaycees. In her free time, Judith loved quilting and the quilts she made for family will always be treasured. After retirement, Judith and her husband Bob traveled extensively in their RV and managed to visit all 50 states. They devoted themselves to their family and loved spending time with their children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Liggett in 2014 and her brother, Kenneth Thursby.
She is survived by her children, Troy D. Liggett (Madeline), Teri L. Liggett, and Todd V. Liggett (Tracy).
Judith was blessed and proud to have nine grandchildren: Heather Liggett, Brett (Elsie) Liggett, Holly Liggett, Jake Liggett, Brandon Tacchio, Brittany Tacchio, Ty Liggett, Trinity Liggett and Trey Liggett; and one great-grandchild, Lilly Liggett. She also leaves extended family and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 11-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Les Sutherland officiating at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
